2030

The time of runaway weather

For nearly two centuries now, humans have been releasing into the atmosphere all the product of their consumption, whether for well-being, leisure, work: billions of tons of carbon dioxide, methane, oxidized nitrous component etc.

From 2020 to 2030, of course, heat waves had begun to appear, but as some preachers had said:

“ it would be finally cool weather compared to what awaits us ”.

The real problem was not so much the fact that the runaway climate started: it was that once started, it became unstoppable.

With these successive heat waves, climate change was finally taken seriously and provided an incredibly pernicious feedback loop. Indeed, while that began around 2030 with 6 then 12 then 22 then 45 million deaths formally identified as due to heat waves over the following 4 years

( the end of the pandemic thanks to vaccines caused 120, 60 then 31 and 21 million deaths in the 4 years beyond 2030 ),

the reports showed that we were poised for an atmosphere of around +4°C. What people were beginning to understand is that a week at a temperature of +58°C with air saturated with water no longer allows the body to cool down: perspiration, the body's natural cooling mechanism, becomes totally ineffective since the air saturated with water is much too hot and no longer allows this perspiration. Unless you have an underground or air-conditioned place, death is certain during the day. However, the problems linked to the lack of energy in these territories where billions of people live or even the problems due to the disruption or the collapse of nations have meant that the first to be able to leave (the wealthy ) have left. As a result, national entities’ crumbled yet faster.

The number of deaths in the first years was “low” compared to the following years. respectively 6, 12, 22, 45 and 60 million deaths.💀 Often due to heat and hunger. Between 2040 and 2050, the number of deaths has risen gradually between 100 and almost 200 million deaths per year, also playing on the birth rate.

What was left of the countries almost all went to war, access to energy, water, raw materials became critical. Wholesale Migrations ensued (several hundred million each year).

At the end of 2040, after this first period of runaway climate, the population fell from 6.4 billion in 2030 to 6.1 billion 10 years later.
